The chair can be adjusted one side at a time but both sides must be adjusted to the same height before the chair is used. Begin the process by tilting the chair forward into its upright position.
- Page 4 UI SmartSeat seat height supplemental iss02, 07/2014 SmartSeat When adjusting a manual chair, undo the screws which hold the legrest release lever in place on the right side of the chair. Use a cross-head screwdriver to undo the screws and carefully pull the lever out of its aperture.

The pivot plates have height settings on the front and back edges.
