1 IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS MANUAL 1.1 SCOPE This document is for use with the TESVOLT TS HV 70 Outdoor high-voltage storage system in conjunc- tion with the SMA Sunny Tripower Storage 60 battery inverter (SMA STPS 60). Read this manual thoroughly to ensure error-free installation, initial commissioning and maintenance of the TESVOLT TS HV 70 Outdoor.
“2 Safety” on page 7 et seq. All the safety instructions must be followed under all circumstances. Everyone who works on the TESVOLT TS HV 70 Outdoor must follow the specifications in this manual. This manual cannot describe every conceivable situation, and for this reason the applicable standards and corresponding occupational health and safety regulations always take priority.
It may be operated outdoors or indoors. Depending on the variant and design, the TESVOLT TS HV 70 Outdoor works within an ambient temperature range of -33°C to 55°C and at a maxi- mum humidity of 85%. The battery cabinet may not be exposed to corrosive atmospheres.
2 SAFETY The TS HV 70 Outdoor meets the requirements set out in IEC 61508 parts 1 to 7 and complies with safety integrity level (SIL) 1. DANGER! Lethal electric shock from damaged components or short circuits.

Do not expose battery cells to corrosive atmospheres (e.g. ammonia, salt). • Do not use any other battery inverters apart from the SMA STPS 60. Commission TS HV 70 Outdoor storage systems within six months of delivery at the latest. • 07/2020...
We recommend using a suitable lifting device. Caution: Do not damage the casing! The individual components of the TS HV 70 Outdoor can weigh up to 400 kg and are therefore unsuita- ble for transport by one person. We recommend that at least three people install the system using a crane or other suitable lifting device.
SMA Inverter Manager and the high C-rate of the TS HV 70 Outdoor storage system. Pro- jects up to the megawatt range can be implemented with this unit.
5.1 VARIANTS AND EQUIPMENT TS HV 70 OUTDOOR Air conditioners Two designs with air conditioners are available for the TS HV 70 Outdoor depending on the climatic conditions. The only difference is the number of air conditioners. There are no other differences in the equipment.

32 of this installation and operating manual. All battery modules of a TS HV 70 Outdoor must have exactly the same state of charge. So be sure to check the battery modules’ voltage before fitting them. The battery module’s voltage must be 50 +/- 0.1 V at the point of installation. If you notice any deviations, please email service@tesvolt.com or contact the TESVOLT Service Line on +49 (0)3491 8797 - 200.
STOP The e-stop contact is used to quickly shut down the system. As the TS HV 70 Outdoor is not switched off properly when the e-stop is used, this may lead to damage to the storage system components. For this rea- son, never use the e-stop to switch off the unit under normal circumstances.
DC auxiliary circuit. Ensure that you adhere to the specifications for connecting the TS HV 70 Outdoor and the SMA STPS 60. For example, there may be no additional consumers or components on the DC auxiliary circuit between the battery and inverter.
The plugs must audibly snap into place. Check the cabling of the SMA STPS 60 and the TS HV 70 Outdoor (see also SMA STPS 60 installation manual). Inspect the component wiring in accordance with section “5.9 Wiring the battery modules” on page 22 et.

2. Tap gently with your fingers on the marking to the right of the display on the casing. Never tap on the display. Insert the back-up fuse for the TS HV 70 Outdoor in the outdoor distribution enclosure. All the back-up fuses for the individual TS HV 70 Outdoor cabinets must be inserted so that the distributor panel in every cabinet has a power supply and the consumers such as the air conditioners and heating units can be commissioned.
Page 41
Once the NH00 fuses have been inserted, wait until the SMA STPS 60 has completely started up. The TS HV 70 Outdoor switches to “INIT” mode and the switch starts to flash. The commissioning process for the SMA STPS 60 must then be started using the SMA LCS Tool.
Note: The SMA LCS Tool is an SMA product. For this reason, TESVOLT cannot guarantee the accuracy of information provided about this and other products belonging to SMA. Binding information can only be found in SMA’s valid product documentation for the relevant product.
If a battery module is installed in a TS HV 70 Outdoor battery storage system and this module’s state of charge differs from that of the battery modules already present, this can cause damage to the battery modules or to the APU HV1000-S.

If you have to reduce the voltage of the TS HV 70 Outdoor (discharging), enter a value between 0 and 100 % [positive number] for “Active Power [P_Ref]”.
ATTENTION! Possible damage to the unit and/or battery inverter. STOP If you would like to use multiple TS HV 70 Outdoor battery storage systems on one SMA STPS 60, it is essential that they all have the same capacity. Note: Up to four TS HV 70 Outdoor can be connected in parallel per SMA STPS 60 using the master/ slave principle.
11 TESVOLT BATTERY MONITORING SOFTWARE – BATMON 11.1 VIEWS AND FUNCTIONS TESVOLT BatMon is a piece of software that can be used to analyse and visualise batteries right down to cell level. NOTE: The software can be found on the supplied USB drive and must be installed in a writeable directory, e.g.
STOP correctly. Before carrying out maintenance work, ensure that the TS HV 70 Outdoor is decommissioned in accordance with the specifications in section “9 Decommissioning” on page 42. Note: When cleaning and maintaining the SMA STPS 60, always follow the specifications and instruc- tions in the technical documentation for the SMA STPS 60.
