WARNING!
Protective glasses should be worn when working on the starter to avoid injury to the eyes if, for
some reason, the return spring should fly out.

Starter
Dismantling
Remove the starter from the engine.

NOTE!
Ensure the bushings that guide the starter towards the fuel tank are not
lost.
Loosen the spring tension.
Remove the bolt in the centre of the
starter pulley and remove the starter
pulley.

Demontering
Remove the 4 screws and carefully
swing down the protective plate so far
that the starter can be lifted out.
The cylinder cover does not need to be
loosened or detached.
Loosen the spring tension.
Pull out the starter cord about 30 cm.
Brake the starter pulley with your thumb
and lift the cord as illustrated.
Let the starter pulley rotate backwards
slowly.
Remove the bolt in the centre of the
starter pulley. Lift the starter pulley
carefully from the starter cover.
WARNING!
Wear protective glasses.
The return spring lies tensioned in
the starter and can fly out and
cause personal injury with
careless handling.
