Switch ignition on.
Turn
distributor
clockwise until the points are closed and then turn slowly
anti-clockwise until the points just begin to open and the test lamp lights up.
Tighten
clamp bolt.
The
timing is correct if the test
lamp
lights up at the moment the right-hand
mark aligns with the crankcase joint when the engine is turned slow ly
clockwise. The engine should be
turned
back about a quarter of a turn
beforehand to take up the play in the distributor drive.
EXCHANGING
FUSES
The
fuse box with transparent
cover
is located
below the parcel shelf.
When
a
fuse
has burnt out,
it
is not
sufficient
merely
to replace it by a new
one.
Inspect the
electrical system
for
evidence of short circuits
or other
faults that may have caused the fuse
to burn.
Under
no circumstances
should you use
a
fuse patched up
with tin-foil or wire, because this
may
result in severe damage.
We
suggest
that you carry
with
you a set of spare
fuses (8 amp.).
