5-8 DK55
OPERATION IN THE FIELD
1. For field work, disconnect the brake
pedal interlock so that the right and
left brakes can be engaged so
separately.
2. Be careful not to force sudden loads
while operating implement from the
power-take-off since such loads tend
to shorten engine life.
Always lower implements slowly.
(1) Swing Drawbar
WARNING
Never pull from the top link, the
rear axle any point above the
drawbar. Doing so could cause
the tractor to roll over rearward
causing personal injury. For
pulling, attach to the drawbar
(swinging type). Use the 3-point
hitch only with equipment de-
signed for 3-point hitch usage.
USE OF THE DIFFERENTIAL
LOCK
Observe the following precautions when
applying the differential lock.
1. Apply the differential lock moderately.
Limit its use to the below situations.
When the tractor enters or leaves
the farm field, it cannot move straight
because of excessive individual
wheel-spin under difficult or slippery
field conditions.
One rear wheel is caught in a loose
area of the field and the tractor can-
not move due to wheel-spin.
069O503A
In the cases of plowing, the rear
wheel closer to the ridge is caught in
the loose soil and is affected by
wheel-spin.
2. Always reduce engine speed when
engaging the differential lock.
3. The use of the differential lock must
be limited to a particular period of time
and cannot be applied beyond that limit.
