ADJUSTING THE CHAIN TENSION

1. Make sure to turn off the product before
adjusting the chain tension. Using the
combination wrench, loosen the bar nut of
the drive case slightly, and then turn the
adjusting screw 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
2. On one hand, lift the tip of the bar up. On the
other hand, check if the gap of the bar and
chain is correct (3–4 mm). Release the tip of
the bar, and then turn the chain tensioning
screw 1/2 turn clockwise. Repeat until the
gap is appropriate.
NOTE: The chain tension is correct when the
gap is about 3–4 mm. Check the chain tension
regularly because the chain stretches when it
heats up. A chain that is too tight will not rotate.
Lift the tip of the bar up when loose, or re-tighten
the bar nut.
3. Fully tighten the bar nut and sprocket cover.
The bar nut should have at least 4 turns after
finger tight. The torque value is 4.5 N.m – 5.6
N.m.
