Chapter 1 Overview

1.2 CIF Module Operation Overview

When exchanging data with an external device using the CF611, the exchanged data
is transmitted through the following path.
S2
Register
Transmit data
Receive data
1) Data transmission
To transmit data, set the data in the controller register and use the MWRITE
instruction to write in the transmitting area of the CF611 buffer memory.
Then when the transmit start flag is turned ON, the CF611 transmits the data to the
external device.
2) Data receiving
The data received from the external device is stored in the received buffer to be
checked and then stored in the receiving area of the buffer memory. Then after the
CF611 turns ON the receive data read flag, use the MREAD instruction to read the
data into the controller register.
3) Data format
The CF611 can transmit/receive data consisting of a series of ASCII codes.
Data up to 320 bytes can be transmitted at once.
The trailing code of this data is set to CR(0Dh) by default. This code can be
changed to a different code.
