OM-2065 / Operation and Maintenance Manual
90SB51 / Spec. 7015-3 / Frequency Converter
Section 1. Procedures
1. General
The solid state converter is designed to be as easy to troubleshoot as it is to operate and maintain. As
mentioned in the previous chapter, all calibrations, servicing and repair work is to be done by Hobart
Brothers Service Department personnel, authorized distributors of Hobart Brothers ground power
equipment, or trained, qualified electronic technicians. The troubleshooting information provided herein
is limited to procedures for restoring the converter to operation after an electrical fault develops which
shuts off the converter.
When input power is turned on, the three green lights on ALARM III should be ON. The DC FUSE light,
when ON, indicates that the fuse is not blown. The + 12V light, when ON, indicates that all control
boards are powered. The + 6V light, when ON, indicates that the DC to DC converter in the POWER
SUPPLY I is working properly.
CAUTION
When input power is turned on, the lights on
ALARM I, ALARM II, and ALARM III will be
ON. Reset the alarms by pushing the
STOP/RESET. If the phase loss
Ø LOSS light remains ON, an input phase is
either missing or the input voltage is very low.
In either case, it is necessary to check input
voltages with a voltmeter.
