Tailstock adjustment
The tailstock is adjusted after loosening the clamping lever located below the machine bed or the
wing nut.
After setting the optimum clamping pressure using the handwheel, the tailstock spindle must be
secured with the lock nut.
Adjusting the tool rest
The height of the tool rest can be adjusted after releasing the locking handle.
The adjustment of the tool support in longitudinal direction is possible after loosening the clamp -
ing lever or the wing nut below the machine bed.
The tool rest must be brought as close as possible to the workpiece but without touching it.
Warning! Make sure that the workpiece support is firmly tightened and cannot rotate into the work-
piece.
Speed adjustment
Pull out the mains plug.
Loosen locking screw, open housing cover and loosen motor clamping screws. Lift the motor V-
belt to release the tension of the V-belt.
Fold the V-belt to the desired speed level (pay attention to alignment!).
The belt tension is achieved by lowering the motor, the dead weight of the motor is sufficient.
Retighten motor clamping screw after speed adjustment, close housing cover and fix with locking
screw.
A table with the corresponding speeds can be found on the inside of the housing cover.
Choosing the right speed
For new turning pieces, always start with the lowest possible speed and increase it with decreas -
ing unbalance of the turning piece.
Preselect the speed according to the cutting speed table, for noncircular workpieces start with
zero speed.
The choice of the correct speed depends on several factors when turning (e.g. size0e, unbalance,
material, etc. of the workpiece).
As a rule of thumb: non-circular workpieces, large workpieces, hard woods = low speed.
