service partner to avoid hazards. The lathe must not be put back into operation until it has been re-
paired.
CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND SPARE PARTS PROCUREMENT
Danger! Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out any cleaning work!
Cleaning
Keep guards, air vents and motor housings as free of dust and dirt as possible. Rub the unit with
a clean cloth or blow it out with compressed air at low pressure.
We recommend that you clean the unit immediately after each use.
Clean the appliance regularly with a damp cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents
or solvents as they may attack the plastic parts of the unit. Make sure that no water can get inside
the unit. Penetration of water into an electrical appliance increases the risk of electric shock.
Start-up problems (engine)
Excessive clamping pressure in conjunction with excessive belt tension can lead to motor start-up
problems, especially at high speeds.
Remedial action:
Loosen belt tension.
Reduce the clamping pressure on the tailstock handwheel.
Only set high speeds for final and fine treatment of the workpieces.
