Operation
Step 3: Generator Start Up
Turn off all electrical loads connected to the generator. Use
the following start instructions:
1. Make sure unit is outdoors on a level surface.
NOTICE Failure to operate the unit on a level surface
may cause the unit to shut down.
2. Turn fuel valve clockwise to the on ( ) position.

3. Press and hold on/off (
remote start fob to activate generator.
On/Off Button
4. Within 5 seconds, press and hold start (
one second. The on/off button on generator will blink
blue when a signal is received and generator will start.
NOTICE If the generator failed to start, the generator on/
off button will turn red for 5 seconds, then blink green for
up to one minute. Repeat step 4.
Manual or Electric Starting
3. Press the activate switch ( 1 ) to turn on the display. The
on/off button ( 2 ) will blink green for up to one minute.

NOTICE If the on/off button doesn't blink green, the
battery is not connected or too low to start the generator.
NOTICE This unit is equipped with an e-choke system. An
e-choke system means there is no manual priming or choking
required as long as the battery is connected and charged.
4A. For electric starting; press and hold on/off button
( 2 ) for one second while it's blinking green to start
generator. Once generator starts, on/off button will
turn blue indicating generator is ready for use.
NOTICE If generator failed to start, on/off button will turn
red for 5 seconds, then blink green for up to one minute.
Repeat step 4A.

4B. For manual starting; grasp recoil and pull slowly until
slight resistance is felt. Then pull rapidly to start engine.
The e-choke will still engage with a low battery.
NOTICE If generator continues not to start, your battery
may be discharged too low and you will need to manually
choke the engine. Remove the maintenance cover and
position the choke lever to the middle position. The
e-choke will automatically turn the choke off once the
generator starts. Reinstall maintenance cover.

Remote Start Lockout
The remote start can be locked out so that your generator
can not be started remotely. To lock out remote start, press
the activate switch ( 1 ) to turn on the display, then press
and hold on/off button on generator for 10 seconds. The
on/off light will then blink red three times signifying remote
start function is locked out. To unlock, repeat.
Pressing either button on the remote start fob, the on/off
button will blink red 3 times when locked and will blink blue
3 times when unlocked.
QPT (QUIET POWER TECHNOLOGY)
This feature is designed to greatly improve fuel economy.
The QPT will automatically come on when the generator is
started. To turn off, press QPT button.
When QPT is on, engine speed increases as loads are
connected, and decreases as loads are removed.
When QPT is off, engine will run at full governed speed.
Step 4: Connecting Electrical Loads
To Restore Home Power Using a Transfer Switch
Connections to your home's electrical system must use a
manual transfer switch installed by a qualified electrician.
The connection must isolate the generator power from
the utility power and comply with all applicable laws and
electrical codes.
To Restore Power Using Extension Cords
Generator may only be loaded up to rated power under the
rated conditions as shown on unit data tag. Reduce load
when using generator outside of rated conditions.
Use only high quality, well-insulated extension cables in
accordance with IEC 60245-4 with the generator's 230
Volt AC outlets. Inspect extension cables before each use.
Check that all extension cables are suitably rated and are
not damaged. When using extension cords under 40° C,
the total length of cords for a cross section of 1.5 mm²
should not exceed 50 m or for a cross section of 2.5 mm²
should not exceed 80 m.
