PROBLEM
Side Burner burns with a yellow or
orange fl ame, in conjunction with the
smell of gas.
Side Burner does not light.
Flame is low in "HI" position.
Push button ignition does not work.

SIDE BURNER MAINTENANCE

WARNING: All gas controls and supply valves should be in
the "OFF" position.
Make sure black wire is connected between the igniter and electrode.
Make sure white wire is connected between the igniter and grounding clip.
Spark should be a white/blue color, not yellow.

SIDE BURNER TROUBLESHOOTING

CHECK
Inspect side burner orifi ce alignment
(Position of orifi ce to side burner tube.)
Is gas supply off?
The excess fl ow safety device, which is part
of the barbecue to cylinder connection, may
have activated.
Is the fuel hose bent or kinked?
Does burner light with a match?
Loosen orifi ce and re-align orifi ce parallel to the side burner tube (3) .

Turn supply on.
To reset the excess fl ow safety device turn all burner control knobs and the cylinder
valve off. Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder. Turn burner control knobs to
START/HI. Wait at least 1 minute. Turn burner control knobs to "OFF". Reconnect the
regulator to the cylinder. Turn cylinder valve on slowly. Refer to "Lighting Instructions".
Straighten hose.
If match lights burner, check igniter (see Sideburner Maintenance).
