5.7 Advanced Secretary Service

The advanced secretary service enables a secretary to share a phone number with a manager and
help the manager to complete routine work.
Shared Line Status Synchronization
When the advanced secretary service is configured, the shared line status can be synchronized.
The manager and the secretary can learn about the status (busy or idle) of each other's shared
line according to the shared line indicators on their own phones.
When the manager's or secretary's shared line is idle,

Using the shared line
For example, manager A's LINE1 and secretary B's LINE1 are configured as the shared line.
Manager A's LINE2 and secretary B's LINE2 are common lines. When user C calls manager
A's LINE1, manager A's and secretary B's phones ring at the same time. Manager A can answer
the call from user C in one of the following ways:
The Manager Answers the Call First
Manager A taps LINE1 and answers the call from user C.
The Secretary Answers the Call First and Forwards the Call to the Manager

l To use the advanced secretary service, ensure that your account has been assigned the advanced
secretary service right. If you have any questions, contact the system administrator.
l To use the advanced secretary service, configure a shared line on a manager's phones and secretary's
phones and set the manager or secretary rights. For details about how to configure the advanced
secretary service, contact the system administrator.
If the shared line indicator is steady gray, the peer party's shared line is idle.
If the shared line indicator is steady green, the peer party's shard line is dialing or calling
out.
If the shared line indicator is steady red, the peer party's shared line is engaged in a call.
If the shared line indicator blinks red (1s on and 2s off repeatedly), the peer party's line is
in call hold state.
Secretary B taps LINE1 and answers the call from user C.
Secretary B taps LINE1 and enters a common line number of manager A.
The call between secretary B and user C is held. The LINE1 indicator of manager A blinks
in red (blinking 1s on and 2s off).
Manager A taps LINE2 to answer the call from secretary B.
Manager A taps LINE1. The shared line is in call holding state.
