CLEAN COOLING SYSTEII -
Grass, chaff or dirt may
@d
the air cooling system,
especially after prolonged service cutting dry grass. Yearly
or every 100 hours, whichever occurs first, remove the
blower housing and clean the areas shown -to avoid over-
speeding, overheating and engine damage. Clean more
often if necessary.
DANGER: Periodically clean muffler area to remove all
gr a ss , d ir t a n d co mb u s ti bl e d ebr i s.
SPARK PLUG -
Clean and reset gap at .030" every 100
hours of operation.

washing with a commercial solvent.

Reform terminal or repair switch if necessary.
REMOVE COMBUSTION DEPOSITS every 100-300 hours

valves. Use a soft brush to remove deposits. Re-assemble

screws down finger tight with the three longer screws

head screws in a staggered sequence to 140 inch pounds
(15 .8 2 Nm) .

FINAL ADJUSTMENT
Place governor speed control lever in "FAST" position.
Turn needle valve in until engine misses (clockwise - lean
mixture) then turn it out past smooth operating point until
eng ine runs un evenl y (ri ch mi xture) . Now t ur n need le val ve
to th e mi dp oin t be twee n r ich a nd l ean so t he engi ne r uns
smoothly. Next, adiust idle RPM. Rotate throttle counter-
clockw i se and ho ld agai nst sto p. Adj ust i dl e spee d
adj usti ng screw to ob tai n 1750 R PM . Re le ase t hr o tt l e -
engi ne shoul d accel erate w it hout hesi tat i on or sput t er i ng.
lf engine does not accelerate properly, the carburetor
shoul d be re- adj usted , usual l y to a sl i gh t ly r i cher m i xt ur e.
CONTROL ADJUSTMENTS:
Proper choke and speed control operation is dependent
upon proper adjustment of remote controls on the powered
equ ipm ent.
