CROSS
DERAILLEUR SYSTEM, GEARS SHIFTING
Derailleur system consists of shifting levers (or shifting grips), shifting cables, front and rear derailleurs,
freewheel (cassette sprockets) and chain. System is set up by the producer, so do not change it
until necessary. Shift gears only when pedaling forward. Never shift using force! Functionality of the
system depends mainly on an easy movement of cables in outer casing and gear system (sprockets,
chainwheels and chain). Keep shifting system clean, for cabels lubrication use oil with teflon which
protects cables against corrosion keeps them running smoothly and prolongs their durability.
REAR DERAILLEUR
Rear derailleur is controlled by right shifting lever (right shifting grip). Shifting chain on sprockets of
rear derailleur changes the transmission ratio between front chainwheels and rear sprockets. There is
possibility of mistuning of derailleur system during operation.
• LOWER LIMIT SET UP
Shift on the smallest sprocket. Release the fixing bolt which will release the control cable. By turning the
top adjustmen screw (H), set up the guide pulley under the outer edge of the smallest sprocket. Insert
the control cable into the groove under the fixing bolt, stretch it (using pliers) and tighten the screw.
• UPPER LIMIT SET UP
Shift on the biggest sprocket. By turning the low adjustment screw (L), set up the guide pulley into the
middle position under the biggest sprocket. Try to shift the chain on all gears.
• REAR DERAILLEUR TUNING
Hold the rear wheel above the ground and turn with crank arms. Turn the adjustment bolt (an outer
casing with an inner cable crosses throught this bolt) until shifting is smooth without disturbing sounds.

IMPORTANT WARNING
Check the correct set up of rear derailleur limits. If upper limit is released, the guide pulley
could collide with spokes, which can cause not only damage of wheel spokes, but also
serious injury.
FRONT DERAILLEUR
Front deraileur is controlled by left shifting lever (left shifting grip). It changes the transmission
ratio by moving the chain to different chainrings. For proper functionality, the chain guide must
be positioned paralely with chainrings. The control cable must be stretched. During an operation,
there is a possibility that the control cable can be released, and the front deraileur system can get
mistuned.
• LOWER LIMIT SET UP
If the chain falls down from the smallest chainring - the chain guide is too close to the bike frame.
Turn the lower limit set up bolt clockwise.
• UPPER LIMIT SET UP
If the chain falls down from the biggest chainring - the chain guide is too far from the bike frame.
Turn the top adjustment bolt counterclockwise. Check the proper setting by shifting the chain on
all gears.
• FRONT DERAILLEUR TUNING
Any loose of the control cable should be eliminated by releasing the fixing bolt of the cable and
stretching the cable (with pliers). Tighten the fixing bolt. Check the functionality.
