(Wi-Fi) n e twork
To increase the security on your wireless (Wi-Fi) network, we recommend that you take the
following steps:
Α. SELECT THE MOST SECURE PROTOCOL USED BY YOUR NETWORK FOR DATA ENCRYPTION
If you have an active wireless network, select the WPA protocol for data encryption to have
maximum security.
You can easily check your network's level of security by observing the "WLAN" light on your
ADSL modem.
1. If the light is green, the protocol offering maximum security (WPA) is enabled
2. If the light is orange, the protocol offering medium security (WEP) is enabled
3. If the light is red, your wireless network is unsecured and open to anyone
4. If the light does not come on at all, your wireless network is disabled
You can disable or enable your wireless network at any time by pressing the button on the front
of your modem until the "WLAN" light goes out or comes on respectively.
Β. CHANGE THE FACTORY SETTING OF THE WPA-PSK ENCRYPTION KEY
The WPA-PSK encryption key is used by WPA protocol for data encryption and is set at the factory.
To ensure maximum security, change the factory setting of the key and then activate your Wi-Fi
connection on your computer.
Instructions on how to select the WPA protocol and change the factory setting of the WPA-PSK
encryption key of your wireless connection may be found on the DSL Access website at
www.cytanet-dslaccess.com.cy
In order not to lose your connection during the change, your computer should be connected to
the wired ADSL modem.
