13. Hammer Sensor Unit
13-1 Open the top board (front). (See procedure A-1.)
13-2 Remove the upper board (front). (See procedure A-2.)
13-3 Remove the fallboard. (See procedure A-3.)
13-4 Remove the keyboard holder. (See procedure A-4.)
13-5 Remove the action unit. (See procedure A-6.)
13-6 Set in the silent mode, remove the stopper rail and loosen
the two (2) screws marked [G]. The rail stay L can then
be removed. (Fig.3-1)

Always fit the rail stay L in its original position.
Place a mark near the screws before loosening to facilitate
positioning later. (Fig.3-1)
13-7 Remove the screw marked [E] and the four (4) screws
marked [F]. The hammer sensor unit can then be lifted
diagonally and removed. (Fig.3)

After replacing the hammer sensor unit,
• Check that the hammer and hammer shutter do not
contact the stopper rail. (Photo.4)
• Run the hammer sensor height test (sensor sheet test
No.2) in the test mode to check the hammer sensor
timing. (See page 56.)

14. Replacing the Geared Motor
(Time required: About 15 minutes)
14-1 Open the top board (front). (See procedure A-1.)
14-2 Remove the upper board (front). (See procedure A-2.)
14-3 Remove the fallboard. (See procedure A-3.)
14-4 Remove the keyboard holder. (See procedure A-4.)
14-5 Remove the action unit. (See procedure A-6.)
14-6 Remove the stopper rail. (See procedure B-13-6.)
14-7 Loosen the screw marked [03G] and remove the MD
lever, loosen the screw marked [2b] and move the rail
stay R to the left, and remove the three (3) screws marked
[26G]. The geared motor can then be removed. (Fig.3-2)
