4-6 Troubleshooting
Symptom
Check and What to do
The floppy disk drive
Check that a floppy disk is loaded in the drive.

t Load a floppy disk by inserting it all the way until an audible click is heard.

Check whether the floppy disk is formatted.

Check whether BIOS settings are correct.
t You can use the BIOS Setup Utility to disable the floppy disk drive. Check the settings in the BIOS
Setup Utility.

The DVD±RW drive
Check whether disc media is loaded correctly on the tray.

t Check that the disc is mounted securely on the holder of the tray.
Check whether the disc media is intended for Windows.

Check whether the hard disk drive is a specified model.
