Click the OK button.
Disks which have been removed from the managed
disks have "Non-managed" in the Status column.
The color of the disk icon also changes.
To return all non-managed disks to the
managed disks
Proceed as follows.

De-select all of the disks in the List View pane of
the main window.

Select Parameters of Surveillance Tool > Managed
Disks from the File menu, or click the
on the toolbar.
A confirmation dialog appears.

Click the OK button.
Processing starts.
When the processing finishes, a dialog appears to
inform you that the new settings will become valid
after the workstation is rebooted.

Click the OK button.
Checking defective blocks on disks
Proceed as follows.

In the List View pane of the main window, select
one or more disks to check for defective blocks.

Select Defect Information from the Information
menu, or click the
The Defect Area Information dialog appears.

Click the PList tab to check primary defects
(manufacturer's defect list), or click the GList tab
to check grown defects (defects that have been
detected during analysis).

Viewing Disk Error Information
Proceed as follows.

In the List View pane of the main window, select
one or more disks for which to view error
information.

Select Defect Information from the Information
menu, or click the
The Error situation window appears.
The Error situation window displays the error state of
the disk by category.
Following is an explanation of each part of the
window.
Error Information tab
Displays errors which affect the performance of the
disk.
Read tab
Displays errors which occurred during data reads.
Write tab
Displays errors which occurred during data writes.
Categories
The following information is shown for each category.
• Time of acquisition: Date and time when log was
acquired
• Recovered (no delay): Numbers of errors recovered
without significant delay
• Recovered (delay): Numbers of errors recovered
after significant delay
• Retry: Total number of read or write retries
• Recovered (total): Total number of recovered errors
