Building moisture measurement
• Select the measurement function "building material" and remove the protective cap from the
device.
• Place the plug gages at moderate pressure onto the material. Use nails when required which
are inserted at least 2 mm into the material and measure these. Repeat the measurement at
different points to receive an average area value.
• The display shows the measured value.
• Always replace the protective cap onto the device and switch it off at the end of the measure-
ment.
Temperature measurement
• Select the measurement function "C" or "F" and remove the protective cap from the device.
• The ambient temperature is measured via the thermal sensor (7). It may take some time until
the sensor reliably records the ambient temperature.
• The measured value is displayed on the bottom right of the display.
• Always place the protective cap onto the device and switch it off at the end of measurement.
Switch off
To switch off: Keep the button pressed for approx. 2 seconds
If no button is pressed the measuring device switches off automatically to preserve the bat-
teries.
The automatic switch off is displayed through the Display symbol
Deactivate automatic switch off.
Switch off the measuring device to deactivate this function. Keep the „MODE" button pressed
and switch on the measuring device again. The symbol is no longer displayed, the automatic
switch-off is deactivated until the measuring device is manually switched off.
The automatic switch-off is again active after switching off and on.
Display backlight
Briefly press the power button in measurement operation to switch on the display backlight (4).
The display backlight switches on. A brief repressing of the power button again switches off
the lighting. The lighting remains switched on until it is manually switched off or the measuring
device is switched off.
Maintenance and cleaning
Both insertion sensors (2) are parts subject to wear and are not covered by the guarantee. The
insertion sensors can be changed with a tool (e.g. flat nosed pliers).
Unscrew the worn out insertion sensor with a tool in a clockwise direction from the threads in
the measuring device.
Insert a new insertion sensor and screw this together with the measuring device. Only screw in
the insertion sensor "by hand" , otherwise the threads can tear out and the measuring device
damaged.
The device should only be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth or brush on the outside.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as they may cause damage
to the housing or cause the product to malfunction.
Disposal
a) General
Do not dispose of electric and electronic devices in the household waste!
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable
regulatory guidelines.
Remove the inserted batteries and dispose of it separately from the product.
b) (Rechargeable) batteries
You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/re-
chargeable batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labeled with this symbol to in-
dicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the
heavy metals involved are: Cd=Cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead(designation on the
batteries e.g. under the refuse bin symbol depicted on the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our
stores or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.

The wood moisture measurement value specifies the water content of the wood sample in ratio
to the dry matter. The dry matter varies according to the type of wood (specific wood weight)
However, an average value of the most common wood types is used for the specific weight of
(4).
wood with this measuring device, to carry out an uncomplicated comparative measurement.
This measuring principle is completely sufficient for a comparative measurement e.g to monitor
the drying process.
