AIX Device Drivers and Switching Data Compression.
Following the installation of the Drive using SMIT, device files
will have been created for accessing the tape drive. Typical
examples are given below:
/dev/rmt0
/dev/rmt0.4
With the configuration information given in here, devices
rmt0, rmt0.1 rmt0.2 and rmt0.3 will cause the drive to write in
compressed mode. Using devices rmt0.4, rmt0.5, rmt0.6 and
rmt0.7 will cause the drive to write with compression
disabled.

Configuring for the SCO Environment

The following versions of SCO UNIX that run on the PC
platforms support the Seagate DAT drives using the standard
switch settings, (i.e. with switches 9 and 10 off).
SCO UNIX (including ODT and Open Server)
SCO UnixWare
