    • 16 to 32 Mbytes of RAM are required to run the bonus software. About your USB hard drive The DiskStor USB hard drive is a high-performance external hard drive from Seagate Technology. It allows you to add twenty or forty Gbytes of storage to your system in a matter of minutes.

    DiskStor Portable USB Hard Drive Online Reference Manual This section describes how to connect the DiskStor USB Installation 2 2 2 2 2 hard drive to a Windows-based computer and how to install the necessary USB drivers. 1. Boot up your computer Your computer should be powered on and Windows should be fully loaded before you attach the drive.

Attach the other end to your computer’s USB Figure 3 port. 5. Install the Windows USB driver Before you can use the drive, you must install the appro- priate USB driver software.
  • Page 9 Click on the Next button. Figure 4 Note. During the installation process, Windows may identify your DiskStor drive as a USB Device , a Freecom Cable USB device, or some similar name. This is normal, and indicates that your computer has detected the USB controller in the drive.

Basic troubleshooting If your computer does not recognize your drive, first try the easy fixes listed below.
