Prior to installation, read these installation
and operating instructions. Installation and
operation must comply with local regula-
tions and accepted codes of good prac-
tice.
All wires to units outside the control panel
must be of the type H05VV-F according to
CENELEC HD21 (to avoid injury from
touching wires).
1. Applications
The modem provides access to external data com-
munication and offers the possibility of sending SMS
messages from the CU 401 control unit. This func-
tion is only available if the service provider offers this
service.

• Switch off the power supply to the CU 401.
• Insert the modem into the slot on the back of the CU 401,
i.e. to the left when seen from behind.
• Connect the telephone cable to the RJ-11 socket in the
modem.
Note: The modem must be connected to a free, analog tele-
phone line.
