4 Configuration (Command Line Mode)
TERMINAL(config)#terminal timeout 255
Step 2
Configure the IP address of the IAD. There are three methods for obtaining the IP
address, that is, Static IP address, DHCP and PPPoE. By default, the IAD obtains an IP
address through DHCP automatically after being connected to the network. You can
choose another method for obtaining the IP address:
Run ipaddress static ip-address subnet-mask default-gateway to set a fixed IP
address.
Run ipaddress dhcp to obtain an IP address through DHCP. (A DHCP server is
required.)
Run pppoe username user-name password password to set the PPPoE user name
and password, and then run ipaddress pppoe to obtain an IP address through
PPPoE. (A PPPoE server is required, and the user name and password need to be
set as the same as that on the PPPoE server.)
You can run display ipaddress to view the IP address of the IAD.
Changing the IP address may disconnect the Telnet connection. Then, you should establish
the Telnet connection again with the new IP address.
Step 3
Set the registered domain.
Run mgcp mg-domain-name name. The name of the IAD, which is registered on the
MGC server, is iad001.
TERMINAL(config)#mgcp mg-domain-name iad001
Step 4
Run the mgcp mgc index address ip-address command to configure the MGC server.
For the MGC server, the index is 1, the IP address is 191.168.10.20.
TERMINAL(config)#mgcp mgc 1 address 191.168.10.20
You can set the index to 2 to configure a backup MGC server. The IAD registers to the
MGC server of index 1; if the registration fails, the IAD registers to the MGC server of
index 2 to ensure the normal running of the service.
Run display mgcp attribute to view the configuration result.
Step 5
(Optional) Synchronize the system time with the SNTP server, giving the log and alarm
records accurate time for reference.
Run sntp server address ip-address to set the IP address of a SNTP server, and then
run sntp interval <0-3600> to set the synchronization interval and run sntp time-zone
{+ <0-13> | - <1-12>} to set the time zone (for example, the Bejing time zone is +8,
run sntp time-zone + 8).
You can set the SNTP server to a PC on which the Windows Time service is
enabled. The PC must work continuously. To check whether the Window Time
service is enabled on a PC, choose Control Panel > Management Tools >
Services.
If the MGC server can function as an SNTP server, you can set the SNTP server to
the MGC server.
You can run display sntp to view the status of the SNTP server.
