Braking Information
Scooters are equipped with three brake systems—a handbrake lever, a supplemental brake, and a parking brake.
The brake levers must be activated manually to slow the vehicle to near stop. Refer to "II. Your Scooter" for
braking information.
Unless equipped with a specialty device, the speed of your scooter is controlled by a twist throttle. When the twist
throttle is moved from the neutral position, the scooter will begin to move forward. The more pressure applied
to the twist throttle, the faster the vehicle will move up to a preset maximum speed. When the twist throttle is
released back to the center (neutral) position, the electronic signal is reversed and forward acceleration is stopped.
The manual handbrake must be engaged to come to a controlled stop.
NOTICE: If the twist throttle is released to the neutral position when negotiating an incline, the scooter may
"roll back." Engage brake lever to stop the scooter from rolling back.
Cornering Information
Excessively high cornering speeds can still create the possibility of tipping. Factors which affect the possibility
of tipping include, but are not limited to: cornering speed, steering angle (how sharply you are turning), uneven
surfaces, inclined surfaces, riding from an area of low traction to an area of high traction (such as passing from a
tiled area to a carpeted area – especially at high speed while turning), and abrupt directional changes. High cor-
nering speeds are not recommended. If you feel that you may tip over in a corner, reduce your speed and steering
angle (i.e., lessen the sharpness of the turn) to prevent your scooter from tipping.
WARNING! When cornering sharply, reduce your speed and maintain a stable center of gravity.
Avoid shifting your weight in the opposite direction of the turn, which may cause the scooter
to lose traction and tip over.
