those of handset and telephone set

in the reverse position.

either end of cord will fit in telephone set base

Care should be taken so plug will not
be forced into socket in a reverse
condition, as the cord retaining clip
will not lock in place and the cord
contacts will not mate.
Where conditions warrant, the G3A6, G12A,

can be replaced with other types as follows:

Installation of Spade-Tipped Handset

Equipped With G12A Handset (Fig. 14):
To install spade-tipped handset cord (H4CJ or
equivalent) remove 803768191 (P-376819) J hook
stayband from the cord.

conductors through plug, ordered separately, (spade
tips must be bent to clear cord entrance).
cord until about 114-inch of cord sheath is in the
central cavity of the plug. Separate the conductors
into two groups and tie an overhand knot, pulling
the knot to the cord sheath. Pull cord from plug
until strain relief position is attained by knot
entering sheath and resting against plug.

Insert plug in jack.
