    Intended Use • Roughneck’s Professional Air-Operated Grease Gun is used to force lubricant out of the coupler into the grease fitting. • Heavy-duty aluminum die cast head with internal bore precision honed for rapid action. • Ergonomic pistol grip and acute angle design is provided for ease of operation, especially in narrow spaces.

    • Secure the work with clamps or a vise instead of your hand when practical. This safety precaution allows for proper tool operation using both hands. ⚠CAUTION GREASE GUN USE AND CARE • Do not force the grease gun. Products are safer and do a better job when used in the manner for which they are designed.

    Main Parts of Grease Gun Subassembly 1. Gun head 2. Grease gun barrel 3. Trigger 4. Inlet valve / male quick connect coupler 5. Rigid steel extension 6. Grease coupler Assembly Instructions Setting up the Grease Gun Head (Refer to the Parts Diagram.) Note: Use Teflon tape while connecting rigid steel extension (38) to the gun head (1) and grease coupler (37) to the rigid steel extension (38).
  • Page 8 2. Thread tighten the grease coupler (37) to the other end of the rigid steel extension (38). 3. All connections should be tight. ⚠WARNING • Grease or empty cartridge in barrel is under pressure from the internal spring, be alert when removing head of the barrel.

  • Page 10 5. Reassemble the gun head (1) to the grease gun barrel (23) by turning it clockwise. Bulk Fill 1. Completely draw back the plunger handle and lock it in place. 2. Remove the gun head (1) from the grease gun barrel (23) by turning it counter-clockwise. 3.

    3. Operate the filler pump to fill the grease gun barrel (23). 4. Disconnect the grease gun from the filler pump. Removing Trapped Air After filling grease gun, trapped air should be removed using these steps: 1. After filling the grease gun barrel (23) with grease by any one method described previously, while reassembling the gun, keep at least 2-3 turns open.

    1. Connect the air hose to the air inlet (8) on the grease gun. 2. The grease coupler (37) provided at the end of the extension (38) has a jaw-type construction. The coupler jaws will snap on to a grease fitting and maintain a tight fit. 3.
