3. Mount the Chassis in the Rack (Cont'd)
3. Continue to slide the chassis on the rails until the front
handles are two inches from touching the rack.
Continue to support the front of the chassis as you
w
remove the front handles. See
on Figure 5.
4. Slide the chassis completely into the rack so that the
chassis ears are flush with the front of the rack and the
slam latches lock into place. See Figure 6.
5. (Square- and round-hole racks only) Secure the front of
each rail to the rack and chassis with the screws
provided in the Accessory Kit. One screw is provided for
each rail.
To install the screws, open both slam latches on the
chassis front panel and thread the screws through each
slam latch hole. Tighten the screws, securing the chassis
to the rack and the attached cage nut (installed in step of
"Install the Rails" on the previous page) or clip nut (for
use with round-hole racks and not provided by Pure Stor-
age), and then close the slam latches. See Figure 7.
(Threaded-hole racks only) Secure the front of each rail
to the rack with screws that fit the rack's threaded holes.
For example, if the rack has #10-32 threads, you can use
the screws provided in the Accessory Kit. If the rack has
threads of another size, you must obtain matching
screws.

4. Install DirectFlash Modules, Flash Modules, or Blanks
Install DirectFlash Modules, Flash Modules, or blanks in groups of 10. Do not alternate module types. DirectFlash Module
and Flash Module labels show the capacity in terabytes (see Figure 8).
Make sure all unused slots are filled with blanks.
1. Install DirectFlash Modules, Flash Modules, or blanks (10 or 20) into the chassis slots from left to right, starting with slot 0.
2. Make sure that DirectFlash Module, Flash Module, or blank front panels are flush with the FlashArray front panel. Check
that the latch on each module has engaged by pulling gently on it until you feel resistance.
