Symptoms
There is film yeast
(white fungus) on the
surface of the kimchi
or its outer leaves.
The power is off in
some compartments.
The kimchi is limp
and too soft.
Your home appliance
and smartphone is
not connected to the
Wi-Fi network.
Reason
Is the lid to the kimchi storage
container open?
On the control panel, is the
middle compartment or the
bottom compartment set to off
setting?
Did you add an adequate
amount of salt or fish sauce
when you made the kimchi?
The password for the Wi-Fi
that you are trying to connect
to is incorrect.
Mobile data for your
smartphone is turned on.
The wireless network name
(SSID) is set incorrectly.
The router frequency is not 2.4
GHz.
The distance between the
appliance and the router is too
far.
Solution
• Close the lid completely. If the lid is
not closed completely, the exposure
to air could lead to the occurrence of
film yeast (white fungus).
• Cover the surface of the kimchi with
plastic wrap or a plastic bag to store
it for a longer time..
• Change the off setting for the middle
compartment or bottom
compartment to another setting.
• If you add too little salt, it may look
good at first, but the enzymes
contained in the kimchi will make it
limp and soft. Additionally, fish
sauce can affect how quickly or
slowly the kimchi ripens.
• Find the Wi-Fi network connected to
your smartphone and remove it,
then register your appliance on LG
SmartThinQ.
• Turn off the Mobile data of your
smartphone and register the
appliance using the Wi-Fi network.
• The wireless network name (SSID)
should be a combination of English
letters and numbers. (Do not use
special characters.)
• Only a 2.4 GHz router frequency is
supported. Set the wireless router to
2.4 GHz and connect the appliance
to the wireless router. To check the
router frequency, check with your
Internet service provider or the
router manufacturer.
• If the distance between the
appliance and the router is too far,
the signal may be weak and the
connection may not be configured
correctly. Move the location of the
router so that it is closer to the
appliance.
