Entering your area code

Note
Skip this step if your calling area requires 10 digit dialing.
When you use this phone for the first time, or move to an area that has a different area
code, you must enter your area code. This is necessary because the phone must
distinguish local or long distance calls to properly dial calls from the Caller ID message
list. (See page 31.)

A tone sounds and the displayed area code is entered.

When the area code has already been stored in
memory, the stored area code will be displayed. To
change it, use the number keypad to enter the new
area code.
