Troubleshooting

If your phone is not performing to your expectations, please try these simple steps first. If these steps
do not solve your problem, please call our Customer Hotline at 1-800-297-1023. (Mon - Fri 7 am to 7 pm,
Sat/Sun 9 am to 5 pm, CST. Phone support is closed on holidays.)
Symptom
The charge LED won't illuminate
when the handset is placed in
the cradle.
The audio sounds weak.
Can't make or receive calls.
The handset doesn't ring or
receive a page.
Severe noise interference.
[ 8 9 ] T r o u b l e s h o o t i n g
• Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the base or the charger (if you have more than one
handset) and wall outlet.
• Make sure the handset is properly seated in the cradle.
• Make sure the charging contacts on the handset are clean.
• Move the handset and/or base away from metal objects or appliances and try again.
• Make sure that you are not too far from the base.
• Make sure that you are not too far from the base.
• Make sure the line is not in use. If an outside call is already using a line, you cannot use that line to
make another outside call.
• Check both ends of the base telephone line cord.
• Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the base and wall outlet.
• Disconnect the AC adapter and the backup battery and reconnect.
• Change the Digital Security Code (see page 15).
• Make sure that you are not too far from the base.
• Charge the battery in the handset for 10 hours by placing the handset on the base or charging
cradle.
• Change the Digital Security Code (see page 15).
• Keep the handset away from microwave ovens, computers, remote control toys, wireless
microphones, alarm systems, intercoms, room monitors, fluorescent lights, and electrical appliances.
• Move to another location or turn off the source of interference.
