my awning will not open with switch checked switch has power going threw it .How can i open the awning so i can check motor and power comint to motor.i can not get it to open manually
To manually open a Dometic A&E 895 Series awning and check the motor and power connection:
1. Remove the Power Patio bolt screw from the top casting.
2. Walk the awning to the closed position.
3. Connect the red wire to the positive terminal (+) and the black wire to the negative terminal (–) of a 12 VDC battery.
4. This will retract the awning if the motor and power connection are working.
5. To extend the awning, reverse the polarity: red wire to (–), black wire to (+).
6. Disconnect the battery source immediately after the awning is fully retracted or extended to avoid motor damage.
Do not use the awning until it has been serviced by a Dometic Service Center or qualified technician. Always reinstall the screw in the top casting to secure the awning during travel.
