1 Front Hand Guard
Helps protect the operator's left hand from projecting
branches and contact with the saw chain. Serves as the
activation lever for the chain brake.
2 Muffler with Spark Arresting Screen
Reduces engine exhaust noise and diverts exhaust
gases away from the operator. The spark arresting
screen is designed to reduce the risk of fire.
3 Guide Bar
Supports and guides the saw chain.
4 Saw Chain
Toothed cutting tool consisting of cutters, tie straps and
drive links.
5 Bumper Spike
Helps hold the saw steady against the wood during
cutting.
6 Side Chain Tensioner
Permits precise adjustment of saw chain tension.
7 Chain Sprocket
Drives the saw chain.
8 Chain Catcher
Helps contain the saw chain and reduce the risk of
operator contact in the event the chain breaks or comes
off the bar.
9 Nuts
Tighten the chain sprocket cover to the chain saw.
10 Chain Sprocket Cover
Covers the chain sprocket.
11 Chain Scabbard
Covers the guide bar and saw chain to reduce the risk of
injury from inadvertent contact during transportation and
storage.
12 Front Handle
Handle for the operator's left hand.
13 Oil Filler Cap
Closes and seals the oil tank.

14 Oil Adjustment Limiter
Limits travel of oil flow adjusting screw.
15 Oil Flow Adjusting Screw
For adjusting the amount of chain oil.
16 Starter Grip
The grip of the pull starter for starting the engine.
17 Fuel Filler Cap
Closes and seals the fuel tank.
18 Master Control Lever
Lever for choke control, starting throttle, run and stop
switch position.
19 Throttle Trigger
Controls the speed of the engine.
20 Rear Hand Guard
Helps protect the operator's right hand in the event the
chain breaks or comes off the bar.
21 Rear Handle
Handle for the operator's right hand.
22 Throttle Trigger Lockout
Prevents activation of the throttle trigger until depressed.
23 Air Filter
Filters the air drawn into the engine.
24 Spark Plug Boot
Connects the spark plug with the ignition lead.
25 Spark Plug
Ignites the fuel-air mix in the engine.
26 Decompression Valve
Makes starting easier.
27 Shroud
Covers the air filter and engine.
28 Shutter for Summer or Winter Operation
With summer and winter positions. Carburetor is heated
in winter position.
