Introduction. This edition of the manual is intended for buyers of a SAMON Onion Loader. It contains information for the use and maintenance of this machine. When this guide was compiled the utmost care was taken to ensure that the illustrations and technical data are correct and current for this manual. -

The SAMON Onion Loader is designed and intended for use to load onions.* Use of the SAMON Onion Loader for purposes other than for which it is intended is regarded as improper use. * Always check with your Samon dealer before using the machine for other types of tops and crops. -

Always wait until the sieve and conveyor belts have stopped moving before approaching the machine. Bear in mind that the sieve and conveyor belts will continue to turn for a while after the SAMON Onion Loader has been switched off. -

Operation Connecting the SAMON Onion Loader Use the hand-operated pump to adjust the tow-ring to the correct height. Pumping the lever: raises the support leg. Turning the knob: lowers the support leg. Connect the machine to the tractor. -

Operating the conveyor belt The SAMON Onion Loader is equipped with a conveyor belt to load the onions into a tipper. The electronic remote control is used to operate the conveyor belt. The drive has an infinitely-variable speed controller. - Page 12 WARNING!!! Make sure that the conveyor belt is folded out completely before starting the conveyor belt. Starting the conveyor belt while it is still folded in will damage the SAMON Onion Loader. Set the remote control's selection switch to operation of the conveyor belt to start the conveyor belt.

Operating and adjusting the hedgehog belt and reversing roller The SAMON Onion Loader has a hedgehog belt at the back of the machine. This hedgehog belt discharges foreign matter that cannot be separated by the sieve belt. -

Tighten the locking nut (A) securely. Adjusting the height of the drawbar The height of the drawbar needs to be adjusted correctly relative to the tractor if the SAMON Onion Loader is to be steered optimally. Loosen the locking nut (A). -

Never switch on the sieve, hedgehog or conveyor belts while transporting the SAMON Onion Loader. When you are steering the tractor bear in mind that the tail of the SAMON Onion Loader swings out in bends. The driver's view is obstructed when the tractor is towing the SAMON Onion Loader. -

2. State the type, model and serial number of your machine shown on the type plate. The type plate is mounted on the frame near the drawbar. 3. Measure the width of the SAMON Onion Loader's sieve and conveyor belt, as the correct type of many parts depends on the width of the sieve/conveyor belt. -
