    Introduction FRM220-TM-10GMux is a 7 x 1GE to 10G Muxponder that can transport seven separate Gigabit Ethernet data streams into a 10Gbps SFP+ Based trunk port using TDM technology. The 7 x 1GE interfaces use SFP-based access that can accommodate various types of SFP, such as Multi-mode, Single mode and 1Gbps copper SFPs.

    LED indicators for LINE, CH2, CH4 & CH6 Management Features When FRM220-TM-10GMux is placed in a stand-alone chassis (such as FRM220-CH02M) with serial management port, these devices also support a text based serial terminal with an easy to use menu system for configuration.

    The installation of the FRM220-TM-10GMux card is very straight forward. Once the chassis has been mounted into a 2RU rack space, the FRM220-TM-10GMux cards can be inserted in any order and in any slot of the chassis. To install the chassis card, align the card with the slot in the chassis.

    Installation SFP or SFP+ modules supplied by CTC Union are of the Bale Clasp type. The bale clasp pluggable module has a bale clasp that secures the module into the SFP or SFP+ cage.

    In this way the entire fiber will go dark. Client Side Loopback Test (LBT) Function The loopback capability of FRM220-TM-10GMux is useful for debugging a dysfunctional SFP link (CH1~CH7). In loopback mode, the signal is routed into the Cross Switch circuitry and then routed back to the signal source.

    <U> Update with X-Modem Local Device The FRM220-TM-10GMux card may be firmware upgraded using XMODEM when placed in the chassis such as CH02M. The user may use serial terminal such as a notebook computer that has an RS232 port or via a commonly available USB to RS232 adapter.

    Appendix 1. Firmware Upgrading via NMC Card Local Device The FRM220-TM-10GMux card may be firmware upgraded when it is placed in the FRM220 with NMC management card. The user may use a local console connection to the NMC, a remote Telnet (IP) connection, or a Web based (HTTP) connection with any available browser.
