Important!
If the cable is connected to the transformer without using the terminal
lugs, this will produce a weak connection. This can lead to overheating
and may damage the transformer.
This transformer is fitted with a circuit breaker. The circuit will be broken
if the transformer is overloaded. To get the transformer working again,
press the red reset button on the underside (Fig. 5).
Setting the transformer (Fig. 6)
Using the time switch
Turn the dial of the time switch to the number of hours (1 to 12) that you
want the lighting to stay on (hours of "ON" time (E)). The light sensor and
the time switch work in tandem, so that your garden lighting will switch
on at dusk and switch off again after the pre-set number of hours.
Example:
You want the lights to come on at dusk and turn off again after 4 hours.
Set the dial to position 4. If dusk falls at 7 p.m., the lights will stay on until
11 p.m. However, if the light sensor is illuminated at any point in this pro-
gram by an artificial light source such as car headlights, street lights or
your own garden lighting, the transformer will repeat the pre-set pro-
gram. You are therefore recommended not to fix the light sensor in a
place where it can be illuminated by artificial light.
"DUSK TO DAWN" program
You can use the "DUSK TO DAWN" program (B), whereby the light sen-
sor switches on your garden lighting at dusk and switches it off again at
dawn.
Manual use
Turn the dial to "MANUAL ON" (C) and the lighting will switch on until
you return the dial to "MANUAL OFF" (A) to switch it off again.
Motion sensor only
If you connect the motion sensor, the transformer must be set to "MANUAL
OFF" (A). Turn the setting dial to the "MOTION DETECTOR ONLY" position
(D). The lighting will only be activated if the detector senses moving ob-
jects. To do this accurately, the detector must be correctly positioned and
calibrated. To do this, consult the manual for your motion sensor.
NB: If the motion sensor is connected to the transformer, the transformer
will still work with the time switch. When the pre-set time has run its
course, the motion sensor will turn the lights on if movement is regis-
tered.
Troubleshooting tips
The lighting does not switch on with any of the programs
Check that the transformer is correctly connected. If so, check the volt-
age at the electric socket (you can do this using a voltage tester). Check
that the low-tension cable is correctly wired to the transformer (Fig. 4).
The lighting does not come on at dusk, even though you selected the
"DUSK TO DAWN" program or set the time switch
Place the light sensor somewhere where it cannot be affected by artifi-
cial light. To check the light sensor, ensure that the dial is set to the
"DUSK TO DAWN" program (B) or the time switch (E). Now cover the
light sensor with your hands (so that it is not affected by artificial light).
The lighting should switch on after a few seconds. If the lighting switch-
es on, it is very likely that you have placed the light sensor somewhere
where it can be affected by artificial light.
