7 Initializing the Storage System
NOTICE
The SVP carries the delivery-attached management software and maintenance software that are critical
components of storage systems. To prevent compatibility issues and function failures, do not install third-
party software (such as antivirus software and packet capturing tools) and uninstall the built-in software of
the SVP. Otherwise, third-party software installation and builtin software uninstallation can result in
management failures of storage systems and affect service stability and reliability.
After you have powered on the storage system, complete the following initialization steps:
1. Log in to the SVP from a KVM to specify the IP address of the system management network port and
that of the IPMI port (default user name and password for logging in to the SVP: Administrator and
Admin@storage).
2. Modify the login password of SVP.
3. Activated antivirus software on SVP.
4. Log in OceanStor DeviceManager and modify the administrator password of storage system in SVP.
5. (Optional) Import the license file.

 The default user name and password of the storage system are admin and
Admin@storage.
 You are advised to change the default password immediately after you have logged in to the
storage system for the first time and periodically change your password in the future. This
reduces the password leakage risks.
8 (Optional) Installing Host Software
Install the following host software programs on the application server:
1. Initiator, an optional program for iSCSI host ports. For details about installing the Initiator program,
see the OceanStor HVS85T&HVS88T Storage System V100R001C00 Installation Guide.
2. UltraPath, a multipathing program. For details about installing the UltraPath, see the OceanStor
UltraPath for Windows User Guide, OceanStor UltraPath for Linux User Guide, or OceanStor
UltraPath for AIX User Guide.
3. ReplicationDirector, another optional program. For details about installing the ReplicationDirector,
see the OceanStor ReplicationDirector User Guide.
Obtain the documentation for the host software from the delivery-attached CD-ROM.
