Chapter 8 LAN
DESCRIPTION
Select DHCP Server to activate DHCP for LAN.
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, RFC 2131 and RFC 2132) allows
individual clients (computers) to obtain TCP/IP configuration at startup from a server.
Enable the DHCP server unless your ISP instructs you to do otherwise. Select None to
stop the WAH7601 acting as a DHCP server. When configured as a server, the
WAH7601 provides TCP/IP configuration for the clients. If not, DHCP service is
disabled and you must have another DHCP server on your LAN, or else the devices
must be manually configured. When set as a server, fill in the following fields.
The WAH7601 is pre-configured with a pool of IP addresses starting from 192.168.1.20
to 192.168.1.60.
This field specifies the first of the contiguous addresses in the IP address pool.
This field specifies the last of the contiguous addresses in the IP address pool.
Specify how long (in minutes) each device can use the information (especially the IP
address) before it has to request the information again.
Click Apply to save your changes back to the WAH7601.
