BEFORE YOU START Things you will need: A plumber Assorted tools Elbows Drill Water pipe Thread Tape Spanner Ball valves Take some time to clear any items out of the way to ensure you have a safe, clear area to install the water filter and UV system. - Page 5 When installing outdoors, it is required to have a cover over the electrical components of the ultraviolet light system to prevent rain or moisture from seeping through the electrical components of the system, hence preventing possible causes of short circuits. This system has electrical components and must be kept dry at all times.

- Page 7 Installation: Step 1. Assess the location where the Whole House Rain Water Tank Filter System Complete with Ultraviolet Light will be installed. Look for a desirable position where the system can be fixed securely. The whole house big blue filter system bracket has 2 x holes to attach it onto the wall.
- Page 8 It is preferred that the Whole House Rain Water Tank Filter System Complete with Ultraviolet Light is mounted on a house or strong wall. If mounted onto a frame, concrete the frame into the ground securely. Ensure the whole house big blue filter system is fixed to a strong structure as it will be heavy when full of water and you need to make it strong enough to handle very bad weather conditions like cyclones etc.

- Page 10 UV SYSTEM INSTALLATION GUIDE Installation: Connect the UV chamber and all water pipes Once the whole house water filter has been installed and secured properly, assess the location where the ultraviolet light system will be installed. Look for a desirable position where the ultraviolet light system can be fixed securely.
- Page 11 QUARTZ THIMBLE/SLEEVE INSTALLATION Once the stainless steel chamber is installed securely. Then insert the quartz thimble/ sleeve (using the O ring or O rings provided) inside the chamber and tighten the sealing nuts as tight as you can by hand. (DO NOT USE A TOOL OR YOU MAY CRACK THE GLASS).

UV LAMP INSTALLATION Electrical Installation: Step 2: Install UV lamp and electrical components PLEASE READ: Cotton or powder-free nitrile gloves should be worn whenever handling the UV lamp or quartz in order to prevent fingerprint marking, which will detrimentally impact UV intensity. Remove the UV lamp from its protective wrapping and wipe it down with a soft cloth/tissue soaked in alcohol. - Page 17 Ensure the green earth wire (If supplied) is connected onto the chamber earth wire terminal connection and tighten securely. NOTE: For newer models, the green earth wire is already set as these new systems use a 3-way plug. NOTE: The power supply box must be mounted clear of the floor as a precaution against the ingress of water.
- Page 18 ANNUAL UV LAMP REPLACEMENT & QUARTZ THIMBLE/SLEEVE INSPECTION Switch off the power to the UV system. Turn off the water supply and drain as much water out of the UV system as possible. Unscrew the three screws that secure the electrical cap onto the sealing nut.
- Page 19 HOW TO CHANGE CARTRIDGES Shut off the water supply. Open a tap closest to the whole house big blue filter and allow all the pressure empty via the tap. Use the supplied housing opening tool to remove housing turning anticlockwise. Once loosened with the tool, the housing can be removed by hand.
- Page 20 Remove the old filter and discard it. Make sure to note the orientation of the cartridges. Install the new whole house big blue cartridges into the filter housings. NOTE: You can do some preventive maintenance while doing the cartridge replacement. Lubricate the o-ring and housing threads with food grade silicone grease.
- Page 21 Position the housing tool over the filter housing. Tighten the filter housing until firm. Do not tighten until overtightened. Do not force. Do not open the valve on the mains yet, fully open the tap nearest to the whole house water filter.
