Captivator PCI User Guide

Introduction

Captivator PCI, VideoLogic's PCI-based video capture card, supports the S-Video and
composite video signal formats to provide you with low-cost videoconferencing and
video capture.
Captivator PCI
Captivator PCI is a PCI-based video capture card that is supplied with trial versions of the
most popular videconferencing software packages. By connecting your video source to the
card, you can communicate through your existing Internet server with other people on
the Internet.
Video editing is provided by over $300-worth of Prolab
multimedia software. You can capture
AVI video clips or video stills, and, with the VideoWork software, you can edit these clips on a
frame-by-frame basis to create your own video sequences, or use the Image Folio software to
edit your video stills and convert them to various formats including BMP, JPG and GIF.
Captivator PCI/VC
The Captivator PCI/VC option includes all the software and hardware available with the basic
Captivator PCI kit, plus a high-quality Philips S-Video color camera and the professional
version of the VDOPhone
videoconferencing software from VDOnet.
Hardware requirements
To run Captivator PCI or the PCI/VC option you need an IBM or fully compatible Pentium 90 or
above running Windows 95, with at least 8 MB of RAM and a PCI graphics card with at least
2 MB of RAM, running DirectX 2 compliant drivers. It must comply with the PCI local bus
specification and have a spare PCI bus slot.
