3. 3 Lamp replacement
(except for model B5HP)
ATTENTION:
always unplug the microscope
before replacing the lamp.
Be very careful not to touch
the new lamp
with your fingers:
handle it using paper
or clean tissue.
Dirty lamps must be cleaned with ethyl alcohol.
The lamp is located under the microscope's stand (4 - ref. fig. 1). Referring to
figure 4, loosen the screw (4a) and open the housing cover. Replace the defective
lamp with a new one of equivalent specification.
After fitting the new lamp, close the cover and retighten the screw (4a).
3.4 Lamp centring.
Select the 4x objective (16 - ref. fig. 1), and then switch the illuminator on
(12 - ref. fig. 1). Looking through the eyepieces, you'll note a luminous circle;
if it is not central within the field of view, referring to figure 4, proceed as follows:
3.4 a) Incline the microscope and loosen the screw (4b).
3.4 b) Place the microscope in the usual working position and move it away from the
support in order to be able to reach the screw (4b) with your hand.
3.4 c) Looking through the eyepieces, try to centre the luminous circle in the field of
view by gently moving the screw (4b) in all the directions until the correct,
centred position is attained.
3.4 d) Once the lamp has been centred, and continuing to view through the eyepieces,
carefully retighten the screw (4b) ensuring that the lamp remains steady throughout.
3. 5 Fuse replacement.
ATTENTION: always unplug the microscope before replacing the fuse.
The fuse is located in the housing under the microscope's stand (4 - ref. fig. 1).
To replace it, loosen the fuse holder, remove the broken fuse and replace it
with a new one.Tighten the fuse holder again.
