Maintenance
CAUTION
Brake fluid
Do not allow brake fluid to contact
the vehicle's body paint, as paint
damage will result.
The brake fluid constantly absorbs
moisture from the air. This lowers
the boiling point of the brake fluid. If
the boiling point is too low, vapour
pockets may form in the brake sys -
tem when the brakes are applied
hard.
Brake fluid, which has been exposed
to open air for an extended time
should never be used as its quality
cannot be guaranteed. It should be
disposed of properly.

Checking the power steering fluid
level
OYPI079063
With the vehicle on level ground,
check the fluid level in the power
steering reservoir periodically. The
fluid should be between MAX and
MIN marks on the side of the gauge
at the normal temperature.
Before adding power steering fluid,
thoroughly clean the area around
the reservoir cap to prevent power
steering fluid contamination.
If the level is low, add fluid to the
MAX level.
NOTICE
"HOT" range on the gauge. If the
fluid is cold, check that it is in the
"COLD" range.
