Assembly Instructions for SIMATIC NET PROFIBUS SpliTConnect System
Assembling the SpliTConnect tap
1. Unscrew the contacting element
(2) and pull it away from the
SpliTConnect tap (1).
4. Push the nut (3), strain relief (4),
seal (5) and shield contact
element (6) onto the cable.
Caution! The metal washer (M)
of the shield contact element (6)
must point in the direction of the
strand holder (7).
7. Tighten the nut (3) as far as it
will go.
10. Tighten the contacting element
(2) as far as it will go.
It may help to insert a
screwdriver through the opening
in the contacting element (2).

2. Strip the cable with the
FastConnect stripping

tool .

Refer to the assembly instructions for
the FastConnect stripping tool
5. Place the strand holder (7) onto
the insulated wires.
Caution! Keep to the color
coding.
8. Work through assembly steps 2
to 7 for the other two cable
outlets. Make sure that the
coding (K) is correct.
3. Keep to the stripping lengths.
Caution! The wires must not be
stripped.
6. Insert the assembled cable in
the SpliTConnect tap (1). Make
sure that the coding (K) is
correct.
9. Insert the contacting element (2)
in the SpliTConnect tap (1). The
alignment is decided by the
groove (N) and the guide on the
contacting element (2).
Caution! All 3 outlets must be
correctly assembled.
