If the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 is dropped or
Unplug
covers are damaged, immediately turn off the
ETERNUS DX60/DX80 and disconnect the
power plug from the socket. Then, contact
your sales representative or your maintenance
engineer. Never attempt to repair the ETER-
NUS DX60/DX80 by yourself, as there is a risk
of electrical shock and/or fire.
Instructions for installation
WARNING
Do not place the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 in an

area with bad ventilation or where anything
that may cause a fire, or flammable gases are
generated. This could damage the ETERNUS
DX60/DX80 and cause a fire.
Do not place the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 in
locations subject to oil smoke, steam, humidity
and dust, or in places where the device may
come into contact with water. This could dam-
age the ETERNUS DX60/DX80, and/or lead
to fire and electrical shock.
Never connect the power cables and other
cables to the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 during a
thunderstorm. It may lead to fire and/or electri-
cal shock.
Do not place any objects containing water
(vases, cups, etc.) on or near the ETERNUS
DX60/DX80 as this may cause the water get
into the device and damage the ETERNUS
DX60/DX80 and/or lead to fire or electrical
shock.
Do not place the device on an unstable floor.
The ETERNUS DX60/DX80 may fall and be
damaged, and cause injury.
When setting or relocating the device, make

sure to unplug the power cable from the outlet.
In addition, disconnect all the cables and mind
your step. A damaged power cable may cause
fire and/or electrical shock, or tripping on a
power cable may cause the ETERNUS DX60/
DX80 to fall or cause injury.
CAUTION
Do not use the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 in an

area affected by corrosive gas or in a salty
environment. This could cause the ETERNUS
DX60/DX80 to malfunction.
Do not place heavy objects on the ETERNUS
DX60/DX80. Do not drop anything on it or
strike it. This could both damage the ETER-
NUS DX60/DX80 and cause injuries.
Do not place the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 in
areas with strong magnetic fields, such as in
the vicinity of TVs or speakers. This could
damage the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 and
causes the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 to mal-
function.
Do not lay the connecting cables in a way that
they may become trip hazards. This could
both damage the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 and
cause injuries.
Do not place the ETERNUS DX60/DX80 on a

slanted or unstable surface or in areas that
tend to shake. This could cause it to tip over
and injure others. Also, do not place this in
high traffic areas such as in a hallway. Pass-
ersby can shake the unit, damage it or cause
incorrect operation.
Keep the temperature within a 5°C to 40°C
Temperature
range. Do not place where the temperature
may be higher than 40°C or lower than 5°C.
For 24-hour operation, ensure that the air-con-
ditioning schedule is able to maintain the
required temperature.
The ETERNUS DX60/DX80 may only be used
within a humidity range of 20 – 80% RH. Dur-
ing the winter, control the heating system to
limit ambient temperature rises to less than
10°C per hour to prevent condensation. Fail-
ure to do so could damage the ETERNUS
DX60/DX80 and lead to electrical shock.
