2.2 Grounding AFD4 / AFD4 (FM) / AFD8 and AFS
Requirement
● Active field distributor is mounted.
Required accessories
● Grounding cable, at least 4.0 mm
Grounding the active field distributors AFD4 / AFD4 (FM) / AFD8 and AFS
1. Strip the insulation of the grounding cable to 8 mm.
2. Attach the grounding cable to the grounding terminal of the field distributor. Torque 2.0
Nm.
3. Connect the grounding cable to the equipotential bonding PA in accordance with
EN 60079-14.

Read the safety instructions in the section Safety instructions for connection (Page 14).
Equipotential bonding PA
In hazardous areas, you need to implement equipotential bonding PA according to
IEC 60079-14.
Connect the equipotential bonding PA to the shielding of the bus lines.
The best EMC protection is achieved with direct grounding for active field distributors.
