a Remove the screw and star washer securing the bonding lug and fan cover to
the motor body.
Remove the screw opposite the bonding lug securing the fan cover in place.

c Use your hand to turn the fan and motor shaft. The motor shaft should spin
freely with little resistance. If the motor shaft does not spin freely this may be
a sign of an internal problem that must first be resolved before returning the
pump to normal operation.
