    Chapter 1, General Information This Diagnostic Kit manual is intended to supplement the SafEye Xenon 800 Open Path Gas Detection System Instruction Manual (P/N 10055711). The Diagnostic Kits allow the use of a convenient alternative to using a PC for installation, startup, and general diagnostic evaluation of the SafEye System.

    1. Remove the nylon case and general-purpose PDA. 2. Remove the stylus pen from the PDA and place the pen into the pocket found on the side of the nylon case. 3. Place the general-purpose PDA in the nylon case as shown in FIGURE 1-2.

    Signal/Noise Test From the Device menu pull-up list, click on the S/N TEST button to access the Signal/Noise screen. • This screen offers diagnostic information and is to be used in conjunction with the Signals Information screen to ensure proper SafEye System operation.

    Detector Log File The PDA can record the detector’s parameters during operation [date, time, address, status, gain, LEL1 (gas reading), NQR1 (NQ ratio 1), NQR2 (NQ ratio 2)]. The user should first set the logging interval by pressing the LOG SETUP button (FIGURE 2-4).
