6.5 Subsidiary control loops

This only uses the voltage input of the thyristor power unit. A 5 kΩ potention-
meter is required on Terminals 3 and 5 for manual operation.

Subsidiary control loops are primarily used to eliminate or compensate exter-
nal disturbances, such as supply-line fluctuations and changes in resistance
which would have a negative effect on the regulation. A subsidiary V
loop is set up ex-factory. With extra code TR or TO this can be changed to P
2
or I
control. The free-running economy circuit must operate with a P control
loop.
