6 Anschlüsse
Alle Anschlüsse sollten nur durch eine qualifizierte
Fachkraft und unbedingt bei ausgeschaltetem Gerät
vorgenommen werden.
6.1 Anschluss an einen Verstärker
Es gibt zwei Möglichkeiten, das Gerät mit einem
Verstärker zu verbinden:
1. Die Ausgänge PACK 1 bis PACK 4 (12) separat
an je einen Line-Eingang des Verstärkers an -
schließen (z. B. Eingang für CD-Spieler, Kasset-
tenrecorder). Mit den Lautstärkereglern der Ein-
schübe die gewünschte Lautstärke einstellen.
2. Um das Mischsignal aller Einschübe auf den Ver-
stärker zu geben, den Ausgang „1 + 2 + 3 + 4" (11)
an einen Line-Eingang des Verstärkers an schlie-
ßen. Mit den Lautstärkereglern der Einschübe
die gewünschte Lautstärke und das Mischver-
hältnis einstellen oder Ein- und Ausblendungen
vornehmen.
6.2 Strom- und Notstromversorgung
1) Soll das Gerät bei einem Netzausfall weiter -
arbeiten, an die Klemmen DC POWER (9) eine
24-V-Notstromeinheit
(z. B.
MONACOR) an schließen.
Hinweis: Liegt die 24-V-Spannung von der
Notstromeinheit an den Anschlüssen DC POWER
an, lässt sich das Gerät mit dem Schalter
POWER (6) nicht ausschalten. Es schaltet bei
einem Netzausfall oder im ausgeschalteten
Zustand automatisch auf die Notstromversor-
gung um.
2) Zum Schluss das beiliegende Netzkabel zuerst in
die Netzbuchse (7) und dann in eine Steckdose
(230 V~/50 Hz) stecken.

4 Setting-up
The unit is provided for being inserted into a rack
(482 mm/19"), but it can also be used as a table top
unit. For the rack installation a height of 3 rack
spaces is required (1 rack space = 44.5 mm).
5 Installation of an insertion
1) Prior to installation of the insertion disconnect the
mains plug of the PA-1204EX from the mains
socket.
2) Screw off the corresponding cover panel (1 – 4)
for the insertion compartment.
The three-pole connection cable for the inser-
tion module is fastened to the cover panel.
Remove the cable and connect it to the corre-
sponding pin housing of the module (see operat-
ing instructions of the module).
3) Install the insertion and tighten it with screws.
4) For all further installation steps refer to the oper-
ating instructions of the insertion used.
6 Connections
All connections should only be made by qualified,
skilled personnel and in any case with the unit
switched off.
6.1 Connection to an amplifier
There are two ways to connect the unit to an ampli-
fier:
1. Connect the outputs PACK 1 to PACK 4 (12)
separately to one line input each of the amplifier
(e. g. input for CD player, cassette recorder).
Adjust the desired volume with the volume con-
trols of the insertions.

7 Inbetriebnahme
Nach dem Einsetzen der Einschübe und dem Her-
stellen der Anschlüsse das Gerät mit dem Schalter
POWER (6) einschalten. Die Betriebs anzeige (5)
leuchtet.

2. To feed the mixing signal of all insertions to the
amplifier, connect the output "1 + 2 + 3 + 4" (11) to
a line input of the amplifier. With the volume con-
trols of the insertions adjust the desired volume
and the mixing relation or make fading in and
fading out.
6.2 Power supply and
emergency power supply
1) For continuous operation of the unit in case
of a possible mains failure, connect a 24 V emer-
gency power supply unit (e. g. PA-24ESP from
MONACOR) to the terminals DC POWER (9).
Note: If the 24 V voltage from the emergency
power unit is present at the terminals DC
POWER, the unit cannot be switched off with the
switch POWER (6). In case of a mains failure or if
it is switched off, it is automatically switched to
the emergency power supply.
2) Finally plug the supplied mains cable to the
mains connecting jack (7) first and then to a
mains socket (230 V~/ 50 Hz).
7 Setting into Operation
After the insertions have been installed and the con-
nections have been made, switch on the unit with the
POWER switch (6). The POWER LED (5) lights up.
