    CHAPTER 2 GENERAL INFORMATION 2.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION Our expansion tanks are made from AISI 304 stainless steel and come in various sizes - from 8 to 24 litres - that can be configured vertically or horizontally. They also have legs and a bracket for an electric pump. Most have an interchangeable membrane while some versions come without a membrane but with an air pump.

  • Page 14 If the pump is installed within a system that has a limited number of start-ups the quantity of pumped air may be insufficient to maintain the air cushion inside the tank. In this case, when the system isn't in use, the pump kicks into action. This continuous start/stop allows for the suction of air and the restoration of the air cushion and consequently, allows the machine to work again.

    Bei Einbau einer Luftspeiseeinrichtung in Anlagen, die eine begrenzte Anzahl an Pumpeneinsätzen vorsieht, könnte die eingepumpte Luftmenge zur Aufrechterhaltung des Luftpolsters des Behälters unzureichend sein. In diesem Fall tritt die Pumpe in Funktion, wenn die Benutzung geschlossen wird; dieses kontinuierliche Ein- und Ausschalten ermöglicht das Ansaugen von Luft und somit die Wiederherstellung des Luftpolsters, wodurch die Funktionsfähigkeit des Systems wieder hergestellt wird.
